Arizona Airspeed members have been running tunnel camps since the first realistic skydiving wind tunnel was opened in Orlando in the late 90's. Arizona Airspeed has coached more tunnel camps than any other team or organization in skydiving. We have been able to assemble vast amounts of instructional knowledge over the past three decades to ensure that you are receiving the best coaching available anywhere.
Hosting tunnel camps in the SkyVenture Arizona Wind tunnel has many advantages. The 14 foot diameter tunnel can hold all of the IPC 4-way formations. Debriefing stations ensure that nothing is missed in your debrief. A creeper area guarantees good preparation before entering for your session.
Arizona Airspeed can customize your tunnel camp to meet your individual goals or, if you prefer, come with your team. Whatever you choose, you can be sure you will get the most out of your time in the tunnel.
Individual coaching is always an option too.
During the day, you can expect to spend your time before the session preparing with creeping and talking through technique or theory. You will be spending all of your time in the tunnel with an Arizona Airspeed coach. This enables you to have the most effective learning available. After the session, we will be debriefing fully with video, talking about good things from the session and improvements for the next.
Airspeed Tunnel Camps are suitable for ALL SKILL LEVELS that can safely fly in a wind tunnel. Even if you are learning 4-way FS for the first time, we'd love to help you!
We offer the following tunnel coaching formats:
1-on-1 flight skills coaching: This is great for both new and experienced fliers who wish to increase their potential as a FS flyer. ($1150 per hour)
2-on-2 4-way coaching: You and one other student fly with 2 Airspeed members. In this format you learn to fly a specific slot in 4-way from one of the best! This is great for individuals, pairs, and entire 4-way teams that wish to quickly learn or refine block technique without creating any bad habits. ($775 per person per hour)
3-on-1 4-way coaching: One Airspeed member flies with 3 students. The coach provides leadership to the skydives and can not only see but feel what needs to improve. Especially great for teams missing one person. ($384 per person per hour)
4-way team coaching: An Airspeed member watches your 4-way team from the antechamber and gives improvements in real time. Great for 4-way teams that need more time flying together and want world-class coaching. ($288 per person per hour)
Generally, 45 minutes to 1 hour per day is a good target for a camp.
The cost of the camp includes tunnel time, coaching, preparation, debrief and video of your tunnel time. The camp starts at approximately 8 a.m. every day (some are slightly earlier or later due to tunnel availability).
Extra time is available in the evening after camp hours. You can spend this time with an Arizona Airspeed coach going over skills or learning new ones.
